I adore your house! and have been viewing your lovely posts for a while now. I am trying to create a similar look in my own home.I am having a difficult time though trying to create beautiful sections.The things we live with everyday like clothes, coats shoes,and other annoying everyday items are getting in the way! lol How do you get around this? Do you store your more ordinary 2011 items in other rooms? or just hide them all really well.I just love this old simple style of decorating... ;) thank you xx

Sorry you had to spend your anniversary that way! I think your outlook is right on and you did the right thing being checked out!

I am kind of in the same boat as you, no one in my family decorates or cares to decorate like I do. My mom always ask's where I got my knack to decorate as my sister doesn't like any prim decor. Well I have to give you and some other follow bloggers credit for this and as well as Country Sampler Magazine and when I found blogging I fell in love with so many homes and your's is on the top of my list, well now I am addicted to primitive decorating and love everything old!!! Thanks so much for helping me get involved with such a great way of decorating!!!

I love that you told Mr. Red Door that your love for tweaking is as big as his love for golf. I need to use that one for my husband. But I am glad I am not the only who's husband just wants things to stay the same! LOL!
Love your new purchases!!! And can't wait to see more of your tweaking!!! Your home always amazes me and you are so wonderful at your decorating!! Love the simpleness of your decor!!! You are really rubbing off on my me and I hope to some day have such a beautiful home as yours!

I have not been blogging this past week. I am so sorry that I did not know you were in the hospital. What a scary experience for you. I hope that you are OK and doing well now.I am sure that Mr. Red Door, your family and all your friends are were very worried. You are dear to me and I am thankful it did not turn out to be a real heart attack.... Please...please... take care of yourself... and delete some of the stresses in your life.

However, I have to confess that your description of the hospital made me laugh....but only because I could relate so well. My 1st 3 weeks in ICU I was in a private room & too sick to complain.... but for 2 of the 3 weeks I was in the rehab hospital, I had a room mate who got the window bed. She froze while I melted.... she loved basketball and watched it everyday during the playoffs..... but she was a sweet gal and we became friends. However, whether it is for 1 night or 45.... being in the hospital is not fun. I can totally relate to how glad you were to get back home.

As you know from one of my recent posts, I do not qualify to be in your Tweakers club. In fact, I get tired and have to rest from just reading about all the work and tweaking you do. So, can you form a Vicarious Tweakers International club? I would qualify for that one.

So glad ya are feeling better..I love the new look of the office and I know I qualify for the Tweaker Club..One time my husband came home from work and didn't turn any lights on..went to sit down..and ya can figure out the rest..he hit the floor..Well it's funny now to him..He now is not suprised by anything I do and actually helps out a lot..Only 34 years in the making and I've got him where I want him..LOL..I have always loved to change things up to give the room a new look..It costs nothing and makes ya feel good being the keeper of the home..

Hi Linda, I read your earlier post just now. I'm so glad you survived your ordeal. It always amazes me how rude and annoying patients and family/visitors can be in a hospital setting. I have been fortunate not to have to share a room but my father was not during his illnesses. It sounds like you had a full-fledged panic attack. I've had many minor ones...very scary. I've found that breathing techniques I learned in yoga are very helpful.
I'm a tweaker too. I find it very relaxing actually, lots of fun. I alternate that with rearranging my fabric stash. I love to handle my fabric!!!
I love reading your blog and seeing your photos! Your home is my dream house!

Oh Thank Goodness there are "others" out there who can grasp this crazy TWEAKING thing!!! It's all very "normal" to me!

So sorry to hear about your stay in the hospital! Things like that are never fun.

I also laughed out loud when you compared your tweaking to your husbands golf game...I'm stealing that line the next time my husband comments on me moving things around! : )

Your house is beautiful as always...the tavern sign and lamp are beautiful (I'm jealous) and I love the office make over. Keep up the good work Linda, you never disappoint!

WOW, Linda, I know you said you would have "some" pictures to show everyone, but you've been outdoing yourself. I thought you were going to rest for a while.. I know how it is though, the ideas can race through our minds while our "bods" are resting.
It is a "good thing" that you have some smaller pieces to move along with the big ones. It has gotten so that after forty four years of living in my home, I'm running out of space to move anything. I'm like you, though, if you're not going to move, then move what you have in your home for a change of scenery.
All of your new "tweaking" ideas have given your lovely home a fresh and as usual, an inviting look. I'm sure your ideas have given all of us, who share your interests, more ideas to use in our homes also.
Your Mom was blessed to have two daughters who are giving her so much love and attention in her "golden years", as you feel blessed to have had her as your Mom for so many years.
I'm looking forward to receiving the Fall issue of APP magazine..

Yes that is what I am a Tweaker, can't leave anything alone. Sometime when my grown son comes by I will tell him I need his help, then I get the look, and then he says didn't I just move that.LOL. He told me one day I would move the house if I could, well actually, I would turn it a little that way. Gotta love kids, especially those who can move big objects. I love your office, actually I love your whole house, love the little red cabinet and the little bear, its nice to have a place to call your own. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home, glad I am not alone on moving items every few minutes. Infact thats what I am doing this morning, tweaking. Take care, Vicky
