Here in my neck of the woods we are in the midst of the perfect 3 day fall weekend. It is sunny but cool and the foliage is just gorgeous! It seems very fitting to me that it is a three 10 kind of day!! 10/10/10 !! It has inspired me to take some time to share with you all kinds of fall yumminess – yes, I made that word up but by the end of this post, I hope you will agree it is the only word to describe all this good stuff.
To start off I wanted to share 2 recipes that will be staples in our fall diet from now on. First is a recipe I got from my friend Kris. You can visit Kris WAY over there in Cali – at her blog SIMPLIFY. Kris was one of the first blogs I started following and even though we are separated by thousands of miles and she is not a prim gal, we just clicked! You too can click with her ~HERE~! These muffins are so easy and very soft and moist and pretty healthy and plain old YUMMY! My DIL Ang said they were to die for.
Tomorrow I am taking this recipe, adding 2 eggs and baking it in a 10 x 13 baking dish as a cake and serving with whipped cream when Mr. Red Door’s family comes to dinner. I’ll let you know how it turns out!
And here is a side dish I made after seeing the recipe over at my friend Colleen’s blog. I have mentioned Colleen several times and I can’t even count how many of her recipes I have used and loved. My family already loved butternut squash and this dish scored a perfect 10 with everyone. It is called Squash Apple bake. You can find the recipe on Colleen’s blog – go to the recipe index on the side bar. You can get to her blog by clicking ~HERE~. Colleen hosts a recipe swap every Friday and you can find even more yumminess there!
If you have the fall issue of A Primitive Place, then perhaps the pics of this next gorgeous prim house will look familiar! I had lunch with Laurie recently (the wrap and soup were so yummy!) and she was kind enough to allow me to snap a few pictures. She has changed some things around since last fall – here are the new pictures…
Hubba hubba – look at her new tavern desk….
and just for the fun of it, here are a few pics from last fall that didn’t make it to print…
For an additional treat, from another gorgeous home in the fall issue, here are a few pics of Kathy’s home that didn’t make it to print…
and a few from an earlier visit to her warm and inviting and gorgeous Bittersweet Farm!
and for the cherry on top of the yumminess, here are some pics of Elizabeth’s prim perfect home that never made it to print…
Wasn’t there a lot of yummy eye candy ?!!
And last but not least, what would a post about fall yumminess be without some foliage outside my Red Door.
I used a landscape setting and did not retouch these in any way…
I am so blessed to have such color right outside my window!
I want to wish all my friends to the north in Canada a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!
And a very Happy Columbus Day to everyone in the states.
I finally had time to take some pics of the rest of the fall decor Behind My Red Door so look for that later this week!
Thanks so much for stopping by. I appreciate each and every visitor to my humble home on the web.
Until next time – prim blessings, Grammee Linda
