Happy rainy wet Saturday to you peeps!! I know I promised you a tutorial on stenciling and it is coming, but I just haven’t had time to finish it yet. I have been busy with family, friends, of course our sweet grand baby, and then Mr. Red Door and I took a much needed trip to one of my favorite places on earth – Lake Winnipesauke, NH. I have some nice pics to post about that too ~ next week sometime. But right now, like many of you, I took so many texture pictures that I have enough for a second post – actually I have enough for a third but I won’t bore you with that one for awhile yet. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did taking them!!

Just a quick note on watermarking. There has been a lot of mention of it on blogs lately. My sweet friend Kris over at Simply Prim did a great post on it the other day with some very good points made. You can check it out HERE. I use Live Writer for that purpose since I am making my posts right in Live Writer (and I love it). I found I can choose the option of where I want the watermark to show up from from each corner to the center of the photo and save that as the default setting and it shows up on each picture I import. I love that feature! I also have a right click code on my blog as well – someone else helped me set that one up so I can’t help you there. If you are a member of the APP Forum, ask me about it there and I will direct you to the my friend that helped me. And that remind me to mention this, if anyone ever wants to use one of my pictures, please just let me know in a comment, leave me your email address, and I am more than happy to share (and I’d be extremely flattered as well!!!!)

We are getting the remnants of Tropical Storm Danny here. No crisp dry air in these parts. It’s cool but wet wet wet today and tomorrow, 80’s and humid – more wet! Wet is getting very old. We actually have mold growing on some places on the back of our house and I haven’t seen that EVER in the 23 years we have lived here. It’s just one more chore to take care of this fall whenever it does dry out. To say I am craving the cool and CRISP DRY air of fall is a huge understatement! And that brings me to answer your questions of when I am decorating for fall. It is too soon for my bittersweet gathering and I am waiting until September to put out the other fall decorations inside so it won’t be too long. Outside comes even later as the hot sun we get on the front of the house is not great for that kind of decor. So in the meantime, I am enjoying all of you who are already decorating for fall. It helps me get my fill so I thank you for that!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
And speaking of fall decorating, A Primitive Place Forum is having a decorating contest this fall. Click here to read all about it and yes, that links you to A Primitive Place blog where you will find out about some of the wonderful things going on over at APP. So no need to be confused. A Primitive Place is the main website where there are loads of prim decorating ideas and galleries of homes and gatherings and all kinds of decor. You can then join the APP Forum to join on more sharing and fun. And there is the blog as well. Lots of places to find other gals with similar interests, lots of eye candy, all kinds of resources, and the kindest sweetest gals you will ever meet. We have members from all over the country and some international ones as well!. Why don’t you join us and do tell them Linda from Behind My Red Door sent you.

It’s time to get some chores done Behind My Red Door. All this dampness means spider webs galore (YIKES both mold and spider webs!) and not being home much this week means everything else is still waiting for the keeper of the home to get busy. Even in retirement, a woman’s work is never done……
Until next time – hugs, Linda

As always Linda, your textures are superb!
Happy rainy Saturday to you too! It's been pouring here since last night. I think the sun has taken an extended vacation.
Love your textures, beautiful as always.
Enjoy your weekend. Going to get some cleaning done myself.
Take care,
Nancy
Love your textures Linda. Can't wait to see your daytrip photos.
Wet, sticky, damp YUK! so much for the 2 nice days we had.
Hugs,
Donna
Hi Linda,
Love all the beautiful textures. What kind of berries are the white ones? Tallow? They are so beautiful.
I think we are having a record rainfall for these parts. It's been pouring all day. Looks good for next week though.
Can't wait to see the pics of your trip. Any leaves changing color up your way? We have one crazy maple tree near my parents house that is always the first tree in the area(maybe in the county) to turn red. Like a whole month before. It's starting to lose the red now to a brownish color.
Hope you get a good batch of bittersweet for your home. I can't wait to see it all decked out for fall.
Hugs, Loretta
Gorgeous textures my friend! You take such great pics!! It is rainy here today as well but it it still pretty cool and its supposed to stay cooler throughout the next week!! Lets hope so!! :0) I am not sure when I will be getting my Fall things out, I seem to be in a decorator's funk the last few weeks...I don't seem to have it in me to even putter!! It must be all the gloom and rain we had this summer! I hope you have a wonderful weekend my friend and that "danny" will move away quickly!!!~hugs~Wendy
More textural loveliness ...
And, fear not, fall and drier weather will come. In the meantime, I'll be swiping away cobwebs and scrubbing away mold too. What a summer!
I hope "Danny" doesn't create too much trouble down your way. We're expecting much heavier rains this afternoon, but clear and dry for school on Monday.
Enjoy your weekend, my friend. So glad you snuck in your road trip while the weather was sunny and lovely. I look forward to reading all about it...
I'm off to prep food for our (indoor) barbeque tonight. Good friends and good food will certainly chase the rain away, right?
I loved your texture tour Linda. It is always a pleasure to drop by and visit with you.
I also wanted to tell you from previous posts that your granddaughter is sooooo adorable! She sure is growing quickly. It will be a fun Christmas for you guys this year :)
I can't wait for your tutorial on stenciling. I want to attempt my bathroom on the main level first when we re-do it this Fall.
Our weather here has changed dramatically from last week. Really chilly and even a couple nights of frost. Not helping my planters at all. Oh well, that means it's time to go and get a couple of mums :)))
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sandy
Hi Linda,
It's been cooler here too cloudy, rainy and now the sun is out, we don't have the AC on either plus the leaves are falling.
Loved your textures all great photos of course.
I've been thinking of live writer but I'm sure I'll need the time to learn it, seems it would be easier the blogger.
Glad you got to go to your favorite place I'll look forward to the pics you will post next week.

Hey Linda! Love your Part Two Texture photos! I especially love the one showing the twisting latch and how it has worn away the finish of the doors it holds shut!
Sounds like you had a nice little adventure with your hubby. Can't wait to see pics and hear all about it.
I really need to look into the watermarking a bit more. And also the Live Writer. Is it a program that you download? It sounds like it makes blogging easier and more efficient.
We have had rain for a couple of days and it was much needed. We get too little of the wet stuff down here, but I don't want so much that mold starts growing! So here's wishing you many sunny, Fallish, happy days ahead!
Speaking of Fall, I am waiting until the end of Sept too. It's still too hot here and we always have Indian Summer.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Linda,
It's wet, wet, wet in Michigan again today, too. I long for the crisp, DRY fall days as well. I enjoyed both of your texture posts. Wonderful as always. Have a great weekend.
hugs ~ Pam
more great textures..have a wonderful weekend.:)
A woman's work is never done...no kidding! Happy Weekend ~Natalie
More great textures Linda. WOW, I loved your textures... lots of great prim goodies that you shared with all of us. I might have to talk to you about that right click feature. I hate it when folks copy my pictures - ya know?
Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Lisa
Linda,
More great texture pictures!!
It sure is feeling like Fall here in Ohio...tomorrow our high will be in the mid 60's and the low is the 40's. Perfect weather to watch on little granddaugther Josie cheer at the first PeeWee football game of the season.
I hope to start some of my Fall decorating this next week as I always wait until September to start it.
Hope you are having a great weekend.
hugs, Cindy
Excellent pics, Linda. Lots of thought and effort on your part and I thank you for sharing them.
I'm looking forward to decorating for fall as well. Perhaps I'll start next week as this cooler weather has me chomping at the bit!
Fabulous photos, Linda!! You definitely know how to use a camera!! The details in those textures are amazing!! It's almost as if I'd touch my computer screen, I would be able to feel every little detail myself!
We've had a few cool days here and I've been so tempted to get my fall stuff out and go through it, but I'm afraid once I do, I'm going to want to decorate! I'm trying to hold off for a couple more weeks because I know we're going to have a couple more hot, humid days before fall officially starts!
I hope you and hubby had a great time yesterday on your outing and look forward to seeing pics!
Enjoy your weekend my friend!
~Kris~
Hi Linda, Amazing pictures as always.
Love the textures and wouldn't be bored a bit by a third post! I want to try my hand at it this weekend sometime - if time allows. I've got to finish up some dolls for the shop first. Have a great Sunday, Dawn
Linda,
I have really enjoyed all your texture shots. It make me want to get to doing some things inside for sure. But winter will be here soon enough, then I will go back and revisit your posts for sudden inspiration.
Look forward to your tutorial, hey no hurry we are an easy audience.
Sorry about the bad weather, hope it clears up soon.
Darn housework, its a spoil sport!
Linda ~ Love all your texture shots....had to go back a few posts and read what it was all about...very neat you did a great job as always.
I just read what Kris said about watermarking & it makes sense for those who create & sell their wares...but for me..it ruins the beautiful photos I so enjoy looking at. I feel the photos are like works of art all on there own and the writing just takes some of the joy away.
Just my unsolicited two cents on the subject. lol
Your sweet baby girl is growing so fast.
Blessings to You All ~~
Hugs ~ Connie xox
Your camara captures textures beautifully!
Enjoy your Sunday ~Natalie
I simply cant wait to see you fall decor in full swing, Ill be patiently awaiting at your red door!
Hi Linda!....I performed my weekly computer maintenance and now I can't tell which blogs I visited yesterday....I know I saw your lovely textures and left a comment but wanted to check to make sure I'm not crazy or that my browser malfunctioned and it didn't post....did you by chance receive a comment from me yesterday?....do you sometimes lose track of who you've visited or it just me? LOL
Janet
Hi Linda,
I just read your post from last year on harvesting bittersweet.
Bittersweet really says fall to me too. I have a little bit in my yard and I'm going to try your method this year. Thanks for the info.
Oh I love everything; I am especially drawn to the wood textures!!! So very cool. Yes, I can tell that fall that is coming; there are some unwanted little creatures trying to make my home theirs!!!
I just read your bittersweet tutorial ... they are awesome. Never seen them before. How long do they last? Have a beautiful week. TTFN ~ Marydon
Love your textures, I am going to have to see if I can do that.
Wow..I need to take some blogging lessons from you.you have an awesome blog..awesome pictures and awesome grandbaby.
I will be having a give away in my blog soon to honor my finally getting a web site started..Read about it in my blog when you get a chance...I will be back soon to see some more of your pictures :)
Hi Linda~ Great textures from your beautiful home!
It was cold and wet here too on Saturday but I'm happy to see the sun today. :)

Hi Linda!
I really like your "textures" project; you take such nice pictues - it really looks like a professional did it.
You got me thinking the other day when you wondered how many pieces were in my quilt - I added it up and if I am correct with my addition there are 1,210 pieces. As I was working on it, I felt like maybe it was 1,000 pieces too many! Hee Hee! I am glad it is all done!
Have a good week!
C. C.
Love the texture pictures Linda. It is alway a pleasure going thru your posts.
We had a little rain here in Ohio on Friday night but it has been dry ever since. We could definitely use some more for sure.
Enjoy your week and happy cleaning.
Hugs,
AMY
Linda,
You should seriously think about making some of those texture photos into cards. You did some amazing photography there lady!
We have had such a DRY summer here in Seattle...Send some of that rain our way if you get a chance!
Robin~♥
Enjoyed the photos, enjoyed the bittersweet tutorial, we do not have any growing wild where I live! Your little one is growing so fast, she is precious! Looking forward to seeing photos of your trip. That lake was where the movie, What About Bob, was supposed to take place, but in reality they filmed it in Virginia, not far from where my brother lives! Did you ever see that movie, it was a long time ago when it came out. Have a great day! I just finished mowing and now have to vacuum . . .I told hubby when he gets home from work he is own his own for dinner!
Funny thing about salaries - they sometimes comes with bonuses. Today the John Deere fairy left a new lawnmower under the tree.........Guess I'll have to keep working for that "salary".
Always love your blog - such great eye candy.
Love all those textures....makes me want to reach out and rub my hand over all of them! Loved all the pics, as usual!
Have a great day!
Tammy
