Whatcha Working On Wednesday

Can you feel the excitement in the air that this election generated? I was in awe watching the different news channels last night. I stayed up way too late to watch both the concession and acceptance speeches. The record voter turnout was amazing. Whether your candidate won or not let's be proud that so many Americans got fired up for this historic election.
Once again I have been working on a lot of things that I can't show because they are gifts, or SWAP's or RAK's. I can show the ginger men I started dipping in wax. I was not happy with how glossy they came out. You can see in the picture below that the ones on the left are the wax dipped ones. And 2 of the 5 got milky - not good! I am not into too much grubby grungy and I wanted these to look real, so adding spices was not an option for me. Instead, I sprayed them all with a matte varnish (see the one on the right) to seal them and I am much happier with the results! Another project I am working on, in between real life, crafts and family, is some reorganizing in my office/craft room. I have a lot of card making, patterns and crafts supplies as well as a small stash (well small compared to my quilting friends) of wool, homespun, floss and thread stored in here. Most of my stamp sets are in here .... most because my strictly seasonal stamps are on a shelf in the closet. This is too crowded!
This is one side of the closet - this is 95% card making supplies.
This is the other side of closet - ChemoAngel gifts, packing supplies, and my gift wrapping supplies live in here.
This is where my wool and floss live....
Some of my patterns are in my black file cabinet. The little white box on top holds sewing threads and needles.
My small pieces of home spun are folded and live in here...
And the folders and boxes here hold even more patterns and ideas...I grabbed all the stuff that was piled up here - projects I am working on, things waiting to be packaged and mailed, recipes I printed out, store coupons etc and threw it on the daybed behind me before I took this picture. Who needs to see MY messes? LOL I don't, so that is why I am reorganizing. No one else might ever see itwhen it is done, but if it helps me be more efficient, that's enough for me.
I WON!! Back here, Nicole over at Back in the Day, had an autumn giveaway and I won. The goodies came in the mail yesterday. When I got home from errands and voting, the box was waiting. Look at all the fall goodies she included - even a few extras! Thanks so much Nicole - you are too generous and kind!

I want to repost about this wonderful project that is being sponsored by Heather over at Summerstead. If you can knit, crochet or quilt, you can help our soldiers. Go to Heather's blog to find out how. I am making the tags to go with each item given to a soldier. Maybe you can involve your children or the groups you craft with. It's a great cause!
And last but not least, this is my 97th post! I am going to come up with some sort of giveaway for my 100th post, hopefully next week sometime.
I hope today is a good day for you! Thanks you so much for taking time out of your day to come by and say hello. I love hearing from you!
Until next time - hugs, Linda
