As we approach Veteran's Day, I am extremely thankful for all those in our military who served or are now serving our country and for their families who also sacrifice for us. THANK YOU!!
I am so thankful for my wonderful parents because I would not be the person I am today without them (especially since my mom fixed me up with DH!!). To read more about my wonderful mom, you can go
HERE. And the read more about my wonderful dad, you can go
HERE.
I am thankful my mom loved decorating and inspired me to be so creative. I am thankful she painted this still life that now resides in my home.

I am also thankful she painted these two primitive portraits of our children in 1986. Thanks MOM. They are among my prized possessions!

I am so thankful for all the kind comments I received after my last post. I never ever forget how blessed I am. I have a wonderful life and family, and live in a wonderful town in NE in the grand old US of A! That alone is enough to be thankful for but my blessings go well beyond those. Thank you for all the kind words on my writing. A writer is truly the last thing I ever thought of myself as being. When I wrote the newsletters and notices for our preschool all those years, I was lucky enough to have some talented gals to help edit them. I confess, after years of Internet talk, I know I have lost some of the perfect grammar I was taught. I know I mix up tense sometimes and my punctuation needs work. But I speak from my heart, always trying to be respectful of other
bloggers at the same time.
I am thankful that so many of you choose to come back when there are so many other blogs to choose from. I am thankful I can choose from so many blogs. I wish I could visit more, and more often, but I am trying to live a balanced life.
I am thankful to have found so many friends who share my love of decorating and rearranging and creating and
putzing in our homes - whether it is colonial like me or shabby chic, grungy primitive, modern, pretty in pink, vintage or something in between. Most of my local friends are not in to that and even sometimes good-
heartedly tease me about it. In fact, I think some of them don't even realize that there are so many others out there who are like me in this way.
I am thankful for good friends like Joan and Bill and Dave and Laura, who joined DH and I for dinner here Saturday night. I love to entertain like that. It was a lot of fun!
I won't be posting for
Whatcha Working on Wednesday. I spent time this week taking down my fall decor and took some updated pictures. You can check them out by clicking on the picture of the living room at the top of the right hand column.
And now to my 100
th post giveaway. I struggled a bit with what I wanted to give away. I didn't want it to be fall themed and I didn't want it to be Christmas either. So instead I put together a variety of things I think most of you will enjoy. Some are brand new, some are gently used. Some are seasonal, some are not. Some handmade, some not. Some edible, some not. You get the idea right?

You get the stuffed stocking with crow that hangs on a knob or peg.
Perfect to leave out all year. A
Longaberger basket that I have painted black and distressed and the three adorable snowmen. The basket has a saw tooth hanger on
the back or you can hang it by the rawhide handle. The snowmen each have an old button on the bottom and that is how they stand. Or leave them in the basket and add some greens and you have instant decor. And for next fall there is a white
Jack O'Lantern o
rnie, a mini wooden bowl with a crow, and a little standing crow. Just in time for the Holidays is a package of
Pickity Place Spinach Dip mix.

And you also get the Believe pillow which can hang as well. Each point has a rusty star on the tip. Also for next fall is the little Trick or Treat Halloween
ornie. Perfect for Easter and all summer is a little prim bunny, and last but not least, a little
Olde Crow oval box.

The rules are simple. Leave me a comment that you would like to be entered. If you are not a blogger, please leave an email address. One entry per person. Please do not link to this on your blog. Why? That invites other visitors here and I'd like my loyal frequent visitors to have a better chance of winning - it's as simple as that!
Only comments made ON OR BEFORE 11 PM EST on Thursday 11/13/08 are eligible. NO exceptions will be made. I will draw a name on Saturday 11/15/08 and post the winner then. Open only to residents of the US and Canada.
Good luck everyone and until next time- hugs, Linda
