Whatcha Working On Wednesday?

My sweet blogger friend Leslie over at My Country Home has started a new theme for Wednesdays called Whatcha Working On Wednesday? and I decided to join in today. The idea is to show and tell about something you are currently working on. It can be anything from a craft to a project around the house, from the planning stages all the way through the finished product. I am always working on several things around here but I wanted to share one of my passions this week - my card making.

When I first joined ChemoAngels, I met another Angel , Jenn, who has become a dear friend. Jenn is a demonstrator for StampinUp. She told me about the products and I decided to look at them because I was already making cards using graphics. I thought I'd buy just a few things to add dimension, texture and color to what I was already doing. Well that didn't last long and before I knew it, I was hooked! I love love love StampinUp card stock and color coordinated ink, markers, ribbons and other embellishments as well as the stamp sets. I love how I can express myself creatively while making something I would buy anyway. I have always been a card sender and so now I make all of the cards for my chemo buddy's and for friends and family as well.

Just SOME of my card making supplies are in this side of the closet next to my desk. The black jelly cupboard is full of stamp sets.

Earlier this week, Jenn and I had a lunch shopping date and at the local Dollar Tree I found some pretty layered flower die cuts and rolls of paper ribbon with self-stick backing. I love the combination of pinks, greens and browns in the flowers and they coordinate nicely with some of the card stock colors and several of my ribbons and decorative brads, buttons and embellishments.

I am going to make up a group of cards using those colors so they will be ready for just the right person for just the right occasion. I have one started:

Because this room is always a work in progress and therefore fits into today's theme, I thought I'd share a few more shots of my very own office/craft room.

This is where I sit when I am blogging, doing my ChemoAngel work, and making my cards:

Long before I ever thought of leaving nursing for teaching, I bought that painting of an antique school house. Must have been a premonition! I bought the day bed so that some day, future grand kids can have sleep overs at Grammy's.

More organization!

When I got this room for my own about four years ago, I really wanted to do something different, even if it wasn't really primitive. My dear friend Tumbleweed had used yard sticks as molding in one of her rooms and I thought it would be perfect in my craft room. I knew I was going to use some red on the walls and the yardsticks ended up being the perfect picture rail between the two paint colors.

My room holds many treasures from my former nursery school teachers and families, including my samplers about teaching or the ABC's and the antique school bell I was given when I "retired" in 2005.

So what are YOU working on these days? Stop over at Leslie's and leave your link and share it will the rest of us!

Thanks for stopping by! Until next time - hugs, Linda
