"the older you get, the faster time flies" and I thought they were nuts. Well I guess I am nuts now! Where have the years gone? I know parents who lament the passing of their off spring's childhood years, but I try not to do that. I really do try to enjoy each stage - even most of teenage years. But I have to say, except for those first sweet weeks of their lives when it seemed like nothing could be better than holding that precious newborn, THIS is the best time yet. I am gaining a daughter in law - a very sweet and loving one who cares deeply for my son. And she comes with a bonus, her wonderful parents, Lori and James. David and I so pleased to welcome them, and the rest of her family to our family.
Over the past few weeks I have had many occasions to describe the wedding in Vegas and reception back home on the 3rd to others, and I couldn't find many similarities between this wedding and ours in 1975, until today. I checked the weather and it will be around 90 degrees when they say I do and it was the same for us on June 21, 1975. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now. UGH!! But we made the best of it then and we'll do the same on Saturday. I'll just wilt a little faster this time around. (And the next time someone tells me 'but it is dry heat', I'll invite them to sit in my oven for a day or so...)
So this is it for a few days at least. Jay is taking his laptop but I don't know if we can upload pics directly to it so I doubt we'll have any to share until we get home some time Monday. I'll be sure to post some as soon as I can. Thank you for all the kind wishes you have sent via notes, calls or emails, They are all much appreciated. Until next time, hugs, Linda
